Van in Facebook video not owned by United Tribes
February 22, 2016

United Tribes Technical College does not own the van seen in a February 19 Facebook video in traffic at a railroad crossing.
The video appears to show a van, with the United Tribes Technical College name on the side, attempting to go around a railroad crossing barrier.

United Tribes has investigated the matter and has verified that the van is not currently owned by the college and was not driven by a college employee.

The vehicle, a Ford van, was sold at a college surplus-property auction in August 2015, but continues to bear the college’s name and an outdated logo.

The Facebook video was apparently taken by a concerned citizen and has been shared widely.

United Tribes Technical College thanks those who brought this to the college’s attention and asks that further sharing and posting without this explanation be discontinued.

United Tribes is taking steps to have the college’s name removed from the van. And the college apologizes to those who may have been surprised and dismayed at what this appeared to be.
