United Tribes Technical College students are getting a technology upgrade. A $50,000 grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation will support academic achievement and job readiness among the college’s Business Administration students.
The funding purchased a “Smart Board,” with touchscreen technology, to enrich the classroom experience, along with several new classroom computers.
“We’re delighted to provide support to a wide range of organizations across the three-state region where we make our investments,” said Brian Lipschultz, co-CEO and Trustee of the Bremer Foundation, at a UTTC recognition event February 5. “Their work and dedication helps move communities forward for the betterment of all.”
Business Administration Instructor Glen Philbrick and Institutional Resources Data Coordinator Joey McLeod applied for the grant.
“I remind my students, if you don’t apply, the answer is no,” said Philbrick. “If you do apply, the worse that can happen is that we are out of time.”
The Bremer Foundation is a private charitable trust, founded by Otto Bremer, a successful banker and community leader. The foundation is the major owner of Bremer Bank and manages a diversified investment portfolio that funds the foundation’s grant making.
